Bio
Melissa Gelineau first began racing multisport events - mainly triathlons and duathlons in 1988. She began racing Mountain bikes while living in Florida in 1990 competing in the Florida State Championship series until 1994. After moving to North Carolina in 1998 Melissa competed in several Mountain bike races and was a member of the winning women's relay team at the 24 Hours of Adrenalin in 2001 and 2002.
Melissa had a successful season racing triathlons in 2004 and completed her first Half Ironman placing 2nd in her AG. She had a blast competing in a handful of Adventure races and placed 5th in the Mountain Sports Festival 12 Hour Adventure race with her two male teammates.
2005 brought another successful season and multiple top finishes. Melissa earned the top podium spot in the Sport class of the Mtn Bike Cross Country race at the Norba National's in Snowshoe, W. Va.
In 2006 Melissa looks forward to competing in some longer adventure races and also the Half Ironman event.
